ORDER
No representation for the petitioner. Therefore, this Court perused the case records and heard Mr.V.Jayaprakash Narayanan, learned Special Government Pleader.
2.The case of the petitioner is that he has obtained Doctorate in Work Education and therefore, he is eligible for being appointed as Lecturer (Work Education) in the University of Madras. According to him, Lecturer post has fallen vacant on 12.2.1999 on the retirement of one Mrs.Ethel Selina Balachandran. Therefore, he has filed the present writ petition for a mandamus to the Government of Tamil Nadu and the University of Madras to call for applications for the post of Lecturer (Work Education).
3. In the considered opinion of this Court, no such mandamus can be issued. It is for the authorities to decide as to when they should take steps to fill up any vacancy and it is not for this Court to issue such directions.
