Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the request of the petitioner contained in the representations dated 25.06.2004 and 11.03.2011 through the petitioner's counsel.

ORDER

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner joined the services of the Corporation of Chennai as Assistant Vaccinator on 12.08.1971 and was posted in the Health Department and she attained the age of superannuation on 31.08.2001 and retired from service as Sanitary Inspector and at the time of her retirement, the 2nd respondent, vide proceedings dated 31.08.2001, has informed the petitioner that a sum of Rs.43,000/- was withheld for want of audit sanctioning. However, the said amount has not been paid so

far. The petitioner, who is now aged 74 years, has submitted very many representations and also a legal notice dated 20.05.2015 and requested the respondents to settled the said sum of Rs.43,000/- and since no orders have been passed, the petitioner came forward to file this writ petition.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is aged about 74 years and suffering due to heart ailment and therefore, to meet out the urgent medical expenses, the above said sum is urgently required and hence, prays for appropriate orders.

4.This Court heard the submissions of Mr.G.Anantharangan, learned counsel who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. 5.This Court, in the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioner, directs the respondents to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 25.06.2004 as well as the legal notice dated 20.05.2015 sent on her behalf, on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner. 6.The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
