ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent to give police protection to the Surveyor, who measure the Survey No.536/1 and 536/2 situated at Poottai Village, Sankarapuram Taluk, Villupuram District, on the basis of the petitioner's application dated 27.07.2016. 2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the

learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondent.

3. It is the case of the petitioner that the land in question belongs to him and it was initially acquired under the Tamil Nadu Harizan Welfare Scheme.

4. According to the petitioner, the acquisition was quashed by this Court in W.P.Nos.8767 of 1999 and 718 of 2001 dated 07.02.2007. Thereafter, when the petitioner went to measure the land through the Surveyor of the Taluk office, some persons were preventing the Surveyor from measuring the land on the ground that the land has been acquired for the Tamil Nadu Harizan Welfare Scheme.

5. It is seen that the petitioner has given an application dated 27.07.2016 for seeking police protection, but, the petitioner has not attached any proof for giving the application to the respondent.

4. Under such circumstances, the petitioner is directed to go in person before the respondent police along with this order and lodge a fresh complaint, containing the very same contents as stated in the previous application dated 27.07.2016. On receipt of

such complaint, the respondent police is directed to conduct enquiry and give police protection to the Government Surveyor, whenever he comes for measurement of the land.

With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is closed.
