Prayer : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of Mandamus directing the 1 st and 2nd respondent to register and handover the assignment agreement dated 22.09.2023 executed between the petitioner and M/s. Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company Ltd. and bearing No.P/136/2023 within a time-frame to be fixed by this Hon'ble Court.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) On 20.11.2024, the following order was passed: "Mr.Prabhakar states that the assignment deed relates to 18 Sub Registrars' Office, covering 23 properties. These offices are spread throughout the State. The Registering Authority has received a response from 15 Sub Registrars' Office. Apart from that, one Sub Registrar's Office has given some adverse report. As regards two other Sub Registrars' office, some valuation report is expected.

2. Mr.Prabhakar states that he shall file an affidavit, giving the status of the matters and also provide a copy of the objection received, so that the petitioner will be able to suitably take care of the situation.

3. The affidavit shall be filed, and copy served within one week.

4. Stand over to 11.12.2024."

2. Today, counsel for respondents has filed an affidavit of one M.Magesh, affirmed on 10.12.2024, in which, it is stated that the status report for the three offices mentioned in the previous order dated 20.11.2024 has also been received and immediate steps are being taken to register the assignment deed in pending document No.136 of 2023. At the same time, it is stated that within two days, the document will be registered and returned to the authorised person of petitioner on 16.12.2024. Registry is to take the status affidavit on record.

3. In view thereof, the writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, the interim application also stands disposed of.
