ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking for a direction to dispose of the case in S.T.C.No.540 of 2018, on the file of Judicial Magistrate I Puducherry in a time frame stipulated by this Court. 1/4

2.It is the contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner that the matter got dragged and the respondent is purposely delaying the trial. Hence, he seeks to dispose of the main case as expeditiously as possible.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the materials available on record.

4. On perusal of the docket order, it appears that the accused was not appearing before the Trial Court and the case has been protracted from 11.09.2018 without any valid reasons. Such view of the matter, there shall be a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate I Puducherry to expedite the trial and dispose of the main case in STC No.540 of 2018 on merits within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order.
