This Petition is filed seeking direction upon the respondent/Police not to harass the petitioner. 2.

It is submitted by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner that, though the petitioner gave complaint in Cr.No.71 of 2015, on the file of the respondent/Police against some unknown persons for having committed the offence of theft of jewels and case has been registered in the said Crime Number for offence punishable under Sections 454 and 380 IPC, the matter was later compromised and the petitioner does not want to pursue the matter further. The petitioner also gave a letter, dated 16.02.2015, to the Inspector of Police, S6 Sankar Nagar Police Station, Sankar Nagar, Pammal, requesting the respondent/Police not to take further action on the complaint given by him. Nevertheless, the Police are harassing the petitioner.

It is submitted by the Additional Public Prosecutor, representing the respondent-Police, having registered a case on the complaint given by the petitioner, the petitioner has to appear before the Police and give statement for closing the case, and only https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

for that purpose the petitioner was asked to appear and the Police does not have any intention to harass the petitioner. If the petitioner appears and gives statement, that would be taken into consideration for closing the case.
