ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to set right the anomaly in respect of D.No. 1354/ 1954 in S.No. 255/2B as 225/2B mentioned wrongly by the 2nd respondent Sub Registrar, Poonamallee, Thiruvallur District by giving direction to the District Registrar, Thiruvallur as per the proceedings in Na.Ka.No. 2130/ M1/ 2025 dated 21.04.2025 and that of Letter No. 220/ 2025 dated 21.05.2025 and directing the 2nd respondent Sub Registrar, Poonamallee to carry out mistake.

2. According to the petitioner, the parental document was registered at Poonamallee Sub Registrar Office in D.No.1158/1929, dated 15.03.1929 in Patta No.225 in S.No.225/2B. It is stated that one among the parental document registered on the file of the Sub-Registrar, Poonamallee dated 10.08.1954 as No.1386/1954 wherein, it is mentioned as Patta No.225, "S.No.225/2B" instead of "S.No.255/2B". It is also stated that in the registered Document No.1386 executed in the year 1954, the survey number has been mentioned clearly as "255/2B" whereas in the Government record, the survey number has been mentioned wrongly as "225/2B". Therefore, the petitioner made a representation dated 03.04.2025 to correct the index. Till date, no orders has been passed, the present writ petition is filed.

3. In reply, the learned Government counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that the respondents will consider the petitioner's representation dated 03.04.2025 and pass appropriate orders within a period of eight weeks.

4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Government Counsel for the respondents and also perused the materials available on record.

5. In view of the above, this Court directs the respondents to consider the petitioners' representation dated 03.04.2025 and pass appropriate orders, rectifying the error made in the document, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order, after issuing notice to the petitioner. In the event if any original document is required to be produced before the SubRegistrar, the petitioner is directed to produce the same.
