ORDER
By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. In view of the order that this Court proposes to pass and also the limited relief that is sought to be granted, notice to the 2nd Respondent is dispensed with.

The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the 1st respondent to make a reference under Section 18 (2)(a) of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, (hereinafter referred to as "the Act") in respect of the application submitted on 26.3.2012 during Award Enquiry in respect of the petitioners' land measuring 1.12.5 hecters in S.No. 123/93/2B and 127/6 C.N. Pattadai Elayanallur village, Katpadi Taluk, Vellore district.

At the outset, it was submitted by Mr.Selvendran, learned Special Government Pleader for 1st respondent that the application made by petitioners under Section 18(2)(a) of the Act, would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, which was readily accepted by the learned counsel for petitioners. 2/4

In view thereof, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to respondents to consider the representation made by petitioners under Section 18(2)(a) of the Act and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after issuing a notice to the 2nd respondent and any other interested party. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the representation, the concerned respondent shall consider the representation on its own merits and in accordance with law.
