ORDER

(delivered by SATISH K. AGNIHOTRI, J.) Mrs. A. Srijayanthi, learned Special Government Pleader, accepts notice for the respondents. With consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal, at the admission stage itself.

This writ petition is filed seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider and pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation dated 31 https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

May 2015, addressed to the first respondent, viz., the Chief Secretary, Government of Tamil Nadu, in respect of processing of the file pertaining to his retirement proposal, in accordance with law, at the earliest.

The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submits that the competent authority in this regard is the Registrar General of this Court and not the State Government and the State Government can examine the representation when it is submitted through the Registrar General.

Be that as it may, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, since the petitioner's representation has been addressed to the first respondent, it is open to the first respondent to consider the same and pass orders on its own merits and in accordance with law, at the earliest, preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

The writ petition stands disposed of with the above direction sans costs.
