This Writ Petition is filed for a Mandamus forbearing the respondents 1 to 4 from not issuing any license or permission for installation of the petrol pump station in Old SF Nos.514/B, New SF No.514/3 situated at Neelambur Village, Sulur Taluk, Coimbatore District in lieu of GO Ms. No.25/2022 dated 24.02.2022 issued by the Highways and Minor Ports (HN.2) Department and based on my objection dated 17.02.2024.

When the matter is taken up for hearing, attention of this Court was drawn to the counter affidavit filed by the 2nd respondent, wherein it has been stated that the application submitted by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited for setting up a Petroleum Retail Outlet in S.F.No.514/B of Neelambur Village of Sulur Taluk, Coimbatore District was rejected by the 2nd respondent, vide proceedings dated 05.07.2024 on the ground that another fuel station is located within the prohibited distance. Hence, the prayer in the writ petition has become infructuous.
