The Writ Petition has been filed to direct the Respondents 1 and 2 to consider the Petitioner's representation dated 17.05.2023 by directing the Second Respondent provide police protection and permission in temple function held on 25.05.2023 to 30.05.2023 in Shri Periyandichiyamman Temple, Maniyatha Alli Village of Nallampalli Taluk, Dharmapuri District. 2.The learned counsel appearing for the Petitioner submitted that in order to conduct the cultural programme in the event of "Shri Periyandichiyamman Temple, Maniyatha Alli Village of Nallampalli Taluk, Dharmapuri District on 25.05.2023 to 30.05.2023, the Petitioner has sent a representation dated 17.05.2023 to the Respondents. But, the same has not been considered so far. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed. 3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the Respondents submitted that the Respondent police has received the representation of the Petitioner and the same is pending for consideration.
4. I have considered the submission of the learned counsel appearing for the Petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the Respondent police.
5. It is brought to the notice of this Court that the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu, Chennai, had issued a Circular Memorandum in Rc.007301/Genl.I(1)/2019, dated 09.04.2019, along with instructions to the Inspectors of Police throughout Tamil Nadu for consideration of applications seeking permission for conducting cultural programme. Therefore, in view of the detailed circular and guidelines issued by the Director General of Police, the Respondents 1 and 2 are hereby directed to consider the representation dated 17.05.2023 seeking to provide police protection and to convene meeting of the rivals in the village after getting appropriate undertaking from the parties so that the law and order problem can be avoided and pass appropriate order in the light of the above circular.
