ORDER

This writ petition has been filed praying for the issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents herein to provide Electricity Service Connection to the petitioner's premises bearing No.105, Kuttiappan Street, Lakma Nagar, Kilpauk, Chennai - 600 010, by considering his representation dated 31.08.2015.

2. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner agrees to pay the amount Rs.50,000/- (Rupees fifty thousand only) as part payment, to the Electricity Board on 17.10.2015 and the balance due amount would be paid as ordered by this Court. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. The learned counsel appearing for the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board submits that Rs.1,69,798/- is due and payable by the petitioner.

4. Since Rs.50,000/- is ordered to be paid on 17.10.2015 and the amount due and payable is going to be paid by the petitioner, there is no necessity to keep the writ petition pending.

5. Hence, the writ petition is disposed of directing the petitioner first to pay Rs.50,000/- to the Electricity Board on 17.10.2015. On such payment, the respondents shall process the application for electricity connection and give connection on or before 21.10.2015. The petitioner shall also pay the balance amount due & payable in six instalments with break of three weeks. No costs.
