The petitioner has filed this petition to direct the second respondent to keep the public street namely Boyar Lane in Bungalamedu, Mettupalayam, Coimbatore District, free from obstructions done by the 5th and 6th respondents who are washing clothes on the floor of the municipality street namely Boyar Lane, Bungalamedu, Mettupalayam, Coimbatore District.
2. The petitioner, a law graduate residing in Bungalamedu, Mettupalayam, regularly uses Boyar Lane, a public street, to reach his home. Two women, Rukmani and Chandrakala, the respondents 5 & 6 herein, have Page No.2 of 6
been habitually washing clothes on the street, creating slippery, that endanger pedestrians. On 02.04.2023, the petitioner slipped on soapy water on the street and sustained a lumbar injury, for which he received treatment. Despite filing a complaint with the authorities and sending a representation on 16.07.2024, no action was taken. As the women continue to obstruct the street and cause public inconvenience, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition.
3. Though many grounds have been raised in this writ petition, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice if this Court issues direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 16.07.2024 on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
4. Learned standing counsel appearing for the second respondent has no objection for the said order being passed by this Court.
5. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

6. Considering the limited relief sought for by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court without going into the merits of the case, directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 16.07.2024, after giving due notice to the petitioner as well as respondents 5 & 6, affording an opportunity of personal hearing and considering the documents filed by both the parties and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. With the aforesaid observation and direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
