ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to grant parole to the petitioner Somu @ Somasundaram, Convict Prisoner No.571, now confined in Central Prison - I, Puzhal, Chennai, for a period of 6 days, so as to assist his wife Aruna to undergo surgery on 20.06.2016, on the basis of his representation dated 30.04.2016.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.

It is seen that the petitioner is a life convict (C.T. No.571) undergoing imprisonment in Central Prison-I, Puzhal, Chennai and that he had submitted a representation dated 30.04.2016 to the Prison authorities for earning leave, which has not been disposed of till date.

In view of the above, the third respondent is directed to pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 30.04.2016 within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
