ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge-cum-Special judge for SC/ST cases, Chengalpattu to consider and pass orders on the petitioners' bail application in connection with the Crime No.140 of 2026 on the file of second respondent police on his surrender.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners, and the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) for the respondents 1 and 2.
3. The case of the prosecution is that on 05.04.2026, while the defacto complaint/third respondent and his friends were organising a Disc Jockey (DJ) programme at a marriage function, the petitioners, along with 15 others, were dancing in front of the DJ event and insisted him to play songs beyond the permitted time. When the defacto complaint refused their demand, the petitioners and the other accused abused them by mentioned their caste name and also attacked them by hand.
4. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners have been falsely implicated in the present case.
5. In view of the above factual position, there shall be a direction to the Principal District and Sessions Judge-cum-Special judge for SC/ST cases, Chengalpattu to consider the petitioners' bail application, preferably on the same day of their surrender, in connection with Crime No. 140 of 2026 on the file of the second respondent Police and to pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity to the victims under Section 15-A of the SC/ST (PoA) Act, 1989. The petitioners shall surrender before the jurisdictional Court concerned within a period of fifteen days from the date of the receipt of a copy of this order.
