ORDER
The present writ petition has been filed seeking directions against the official respondents to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 02.05.2024, seeking payment of basic pay, increment, arrears of pay and other monetary benefits on par with his junior.
2. The petitioner was directly recruited as Sub-Inspector of Police in the year 1996. Thereafter, he was promoted to the post of Inspector of Police in the year 2005 and subsequently, posted as Deputy Superintendent of Police in the year 2017. Further, the petitioner was being paid a sum of Rs.90,000/- and his batch mates were receiving Rs.1,01,400/- as salary. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation to consider the case of the petitioner to regularize his scale of pay on par with his juniors.
3. The respondents filed a counter, which would reveal that while scrutinizing the service register of the petitioner and his batch mate Thiru. Venkatakrishnan, as on 01.10.2023, i.e., the date of increment of the petitioner, his basic pay was fixed as Rs.90,000/-. On the said date, the basic pay of the said Venkatakrishnan was fixed at Rs.98,400/-. Thereafter, on 01.01.2024, Venkatakrishnan's increment was sanctioned from Rs.98,400/- to Rs.1,01,400/-.

Accordingly, the respondents are directed to rectify the pay anomaly of the petitioner on par with his junior Venkatakrishnan and fix his salary as Rs.98,400/- from 01.10.2023 and settle the arrears of salary and other monetary benefits, if any, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With these directions, the writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
