2. The petitioner states that he is the owner of the property being House site bearing Plot No.274, ad-measuring to an extent of 5580 sq.ft., Kaivalyam Nagar lay out situated in No.174, Vadakal Village, Sriperumbudur Taluk, Kancheepuram https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
District and it is sought to be auctioned by the Indian Bank, Nungambakkam Branch, Chennai - 600 034 and he sought certain information vide letter dated 19.04.2016 under the Right to Information Act and though it was received and acknowledged, no response is forthcoming and hence, came forward to file this writ petition.
3. This Court heard the submissions of Mr.B.Natarajan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.Jeyesh 'B' Dolia, learned counsel, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
4. This Court, upon hearing the submission of the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, is of the view that the petitioner is having an effective alternative remedy under Section 19(1) of the Right to Information Act, 2005 and therefore, he may avail the said remedy.
5. In the result, this writ petition is disposed of. The petitioner is at liberty to avail the alternative remedy under Section 19(1) of the Right to Information Act, 2005 with regard to the non furnishing of the information by the second respondent. No costs.
