PETITION under Article 226 of The Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to issue a joint patta in favour of the petitioners for their property situated in Panaiyur Village, Cheyyur Taluk, Kanchipuram District comprised in Survey No.285/2 to the total extent of 1.65 acres as per the petitioners' representation dated 22.8.2011 within a specified time fixed by this Court. ORDER

Heard both.

2. The prayer in this writ petition is for a direction to https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the respondents to issue a joint patta in favour of the petitioners based on their representation dated 22.8.2011.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the representation of the first petitioner dated 10.10.2012 has been forwarded by the District Revenue Officer to the Tahsildar for necessary action. However, so far, no order has been passed.

4. The learned Government Advocate, in turn, submits that the first respondent is the Competent Authority and that he is ready to pass orders within a reasonable time.

5. In the light of the said submission of the learned Government Advocate, without going into the merits of the case, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to consider the representation of the first petitioner dated 10.10.2012 on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after affording an opportunity to all necessary parties.
