ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of Mandamus to direct the 1 st respondent to correct the name of the petitioner's mother as "Nalini" instead of "Santhi" in the death certificate that was issued on 22.02.2024 after the demise of Arunachalam.

Heard Mr.P.Singaran, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mrs.Vanitha Joice Rani, learned standing counsel for 1 st respondent.

It is seen from records that the name of the petitioner's mother is Nalini and whereas, it has been wrongly mentioned as Santhi in the death certificate. To substantiate the same, the sale deed dated 05.08.1991 which was registered as document No.3257 of 1991 and also the petitioner's father's family pension form shows that the actual name of the petitioner's mother is Nalini. 4.

In view of the above, there shall be a direction to the 1 st respondent to act upon the representation made by the petitioner on 22.02.2014 and carry out the necessary correction and issue a fresh death certificate within a period of

four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
