ORDER
1. Mr.Yogesh Kannadasan, learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.
2. The writ petition has been filed in the nature of a mandamus seeking a direction to the respondent/District Revenue Officer, Namakkal District to dispose of an appeal in Appeal No.5915/2020 [O1] within a stipulated period.
3. It had been stated that originally the Revenue Divisional Officer had passed an order with respect to the lands in S.No.171/A/1B. The petitioner claims that he is in possession of the said property. However, the Revenue Divisional Officer, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
appears to have cancelled the patta which had been issued in favour of the petitioner herein. Questioning the said order of the Revenue Divisional Officer, the petitioner herein had filed an appeal before the respondent herein/District Revenue Officer.
4. I am informed that notice had been directed in the said appeal and respondent in the appeal had also entered appearance and as a matter of fact, there had been at least five or six hearings. It is complained by the learned counsel for the petitioner that unfortunately, there is no forward progress and seeking such progress, the present writ petition is filed.
5. Let me issue a mandamus to the respondent/District Revenue Officer, to examine the records and pass a considered order after hearing both the parties, but, at any rate, the respondent shall complete the procedure on or before 31.10.2021.
6. The writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
