ORDER
By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus to consider the representation dated 04.04.2025 whereby the petitioner requested to correct the name in the UDR patta with respect to the property comprised in Old Survey No.161/2B and New survey Nos.161/2B1A1, 161/2B1A2, 161/2B1B and 161/2B2 situated in Thuraimangalam Village, Perambalur Taluk, Perambalur District in the light of the order in proceedings Mu.Muu/A2/5623/2010 dated 09.04.2010.

It is submitted by the learned counsel for petitioner that the property situated in Thuraimangalam Village, Perambalur Taluk, Perambalur District originally belonged to the petitioner's father Periyasamy, son of Palanimuthu. It is further submitted that the land comprised in Survey No.161/2 measures about 9.02 acres and a joint patta was issued in the name of petitioner's father and one Nallu. There was an oral division of 9.02 acres belonging to the petitioner's father Periyasamy and Nallu equally of 4.51 acres each. It is stated that 4.51 2/6
acres which was allotted to the petitioner's father comprised in Survey No.161/2. After the death of the petitioner's father Periyasamy, a joint patta was issued in the name of petitioner and his brother Adhimoolam. 3.1. It is submitted by the learned counsel for petitioner that petitioner's father had only two children viz., the petitioner and his brother Adhimoolam. It is stated that during UDR implementation, an error has crept in, and the patta was issued in the name of N.Pazhanimuthu. It is thus submitted by the learned counsel for petitioner that N.Palanimuthu has nothing to do with his family or father. It is stated that petitioner has submitted multiple petitions requesting to rectify the above mistake in implementation of UDR, and one such representation is dated 22.05.2025, however the same has not been considered till date. Hence this writ petition.

At this juncture, Mr.A.Selvendran, learned Special Government Pleader for respondents would submit that they would consider and pass appropriate orders after putting the petitioner, N.Palanimuthu, in whose name patta stands presently, Adhimoolam and any other interested parties on notice within the time period to be fixed by this Court.

In view thereof, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the appropriate respondent to consider the representation dated 22.05.2025 on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, N.Palanimuthu in whose name the patta presently stands, Adhimoolam and any other interested persons/stake holders, if any, within a period of 12 weeks from the date of uploading of web copy without waiting for receipt of certified copy. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the representation and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the representation on its own merits and in accordance with law.
