Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to remove the encroachments in the burial grounds of bearing S.No. 93/2A1F 93/3A2A at Vembi Village, Kalavai T.K., Ranipet District in pursuant to the representation dated 12.07.2021.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) The grievance of the petitioner is that several encroachers have come into the burial grounds at S.Nos.93/2A1F and 93/3A2A at Vembi Village of Kalavai Taluk at Ranipet District.

2. Mr.P.Muthukumar, learned State Government Pleader, takes notice on behalf of the respondents. According to Mr.Muthukumar, the Tahsildar, Kalavai is taking immediate steps to remove any encroachment in the burial grounds.

3. At any rate, it will be open to the petitioner herein to make a detailed representation to the second respondent Tahsildar within a fortnight from date, whereupon the Tahsildar will conduct an inquiry and take immediate appropriate steps upon notice to the petitioner and any other person likely to be affected by the Tahsildar's action. In the event there are any encroachers, the Tahsildar will take urgent steps to remove them in accordance with law. It is hoped that the entire exercise will be completed within ten weeks of the receipt of the petitioner's representation in such regard.

W.P.No.18067 of 2021 is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
