ORDER

(1) Mr.Yogesh Kannadasan, learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.

(2) An appeal has been preferred questioning the order of the Tahsildar, rejecting grant of patta to the petitioner. The said order of the Tahsildar is dated 25.11.2019. The appeal was presented before the 3rd respondent / Revenue Divisional Officer, Chennai South, Guindy. Thereafter, the 2nd respondent/District Revenue Officer, had addressed a letter dated 29.08.2020 to the 3rd respondent calling upon the said official to examine the said appeal and pass appropriate orders.

(3) The present writ petition, however, has been filed seeking a mandamus to the 2nd respondent to dispose of the appeal of the petitioner, while the said appeal is actually pending before the 3rd respondent.

(4) A direction is given to the 3rd respondent to prosecute the said appeal which had been presented on 13.02.2020 in the manner known to law after hearing all the concerned parties and dispose of the said appeal on or before 30.09.2021. (5) The writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
