Ellappan ..Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to provide service connection to the petitioner's property situated at flat No.F1, First Floor, No.2, 1st Church Street, Lakshmi Nagar, Nandhivaram, Guduvancherry by considering the application for new service connection vide Application Reference No.200095830525389 dated 09.05.2025.

ORDER

The writ petition has been filed for a direction to second respondent to provide service connection to petitioner's property situated at flat No.F1, First Floor, No.2, 1st Church Street, Lakshmi Nagar, Nandhivaram, Guduvancherry by considering application for new service connection vide Application Reference No.200095830525389 dated 09.05.2025.

2. At the outset, learned Standing Counsel for respondents 1 and 2 would submit that petitioner may take out a fresh online application along with payment of appropriate fee. If any such online application is filed, the same would considered and appropriate orders would be passed, in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court, which was agreed to by the learned counsel for petitioner.

3. In view thereof, it is open to petitioner to file a fresh online application and if any such online application is filed, the respondents 1 and 2 shall consider the same on its own merits and provide electricity connection to petitioner, in accordance with law, within a period of two (2) weeks from the

date on which the online application is filed by petitioner. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the case.
