This petition is filed by the petitioners to extend the time by a further period of 60 days for deposit of 20% of the compensation amount to the credit of C.C.No.2443 of 2016on the file of III Fast Track Metropolitan Magistrate, Chennai, pending disposal of the above appeal.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that on 25.04.2023, this court, while enlarging the petitioners on bail, by suspending the substantive sentence of imprisonment imposed on the petitioners in Crl.M.P.No.5831 of 2023 in Crl.R.C.No.756 of 2023, imposed a condition that the petitioners shall deposit 20% of the cheque amount within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order to the credit of C.C.No.2443 of 2016 before the learned Metropolitan Magistrate, Fast Track Court-III, Saidapet, Chennai 600 015.

3. He further submitted that the petitioners are not having sufficient funds to deposit the amount and steps are being taken to generate the funds to 1/2 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

msr deposit 20% of the compensation amount and the same would require some time. Hence he prayed to extend the time by another 60 days for depositing the 20% of the cheque amount as ordered by this court.

4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel appearing for the respondent and perused the reasons stated in the accompanying affidavit filed in support of this petition.

5. Considering the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner, this court grants a further period of three weeks to deposit 20% of the compensation amount as ordered by this Court in Crl.M.P.No.5831 of 2023 in Crl.R.C.No.756 of 2023, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. This petition is ordered accordingly.
