For Respondents : Mr.R.Rajasekaran, (in both the cases) Counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side), for R1 COMMON ORDER The petitioner in Crl.O.P.No.10754 of 2026 is the first accused and the petitioners in Crl.O.P.No.7287 of 2024 are the accused Nos.3 to 6 in Crime No.3321 of 2020.

2. The contention of the petitioners is that the petitioners and the second respondent/de facto complainant are neighbours and there was some dispute which ends into a wordy quarrel and a case has been registered. On the complaint of one of the accused, an F.I.R is registered in Crime No.3324 of 2020 against the second respondent and others. Both the cases are in the nature of case and counter. 3.Learned Counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) for the first respondent submitted that in the complaint against the petitioners in Crime No.3321 of 2020, investigation is now completed and the charge sheet is filed on 15.06.2026.

4. It is seen that this Criminal Original Petition is filed on 17.04.2026. Two months thereafter, the charge sheet has been filed. The respondent Police, knowing about the pendency of the quash application, in this case, has filed the charge sheet. It is also to be seen that in the counter-complaint filed by one of the accused against the second respondent and others in Crime No.3324 of 2020, the investigation is still pending.

5. In view of the same, this Court finds that the Police Standing Order 566 has not been followed. In view of the above, this Court stays further proceedings in Crime No.3321 of 2020 till the conclusion of investigation in Crime No.3324 of 2020 and thereafter, both the cases to be tried together.

6. Accordingly, these Criminal Original Petitions are disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. 16.06.2026 Index : yes/no Speaking order/Non-speaking order : yes/no grs 3/5
