Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to sanction the service and pensionary benefits by considering the petitioner's representation dated 24.08.2015 within the period stipulated by this Court.

By consent this writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner would state that he was selected as Fire Man through employment exchange and after completing three months training, he was appointed as Fire Man at Ambathur Fire Office and subsequently, he was transferred to various places

and finally posted at Ashoknagar, Chennai. It is further stated by the petitioner that during January 1992, suddenly he became sick and he was bedridden and consequently lost his conscious and he has been taken to his native place for treatment and after treatment, he gained conscious during third week of August 2015 and later came to know that he has attained the age of 58 years and his date of retirement is 31.05.2015. However, pension and other terminal benefits have not been settled and in this regard, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 24.08.2015 to the respondents and since no order has been passed, came forward to file this writ petition.

3. Heard the submissions of Mr.V.Subbiah, learned Special Government Pleader who accepts notice for the respondents.

4. Though the petitioner has prayed for larger relief, this Court, in the light of the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the petitioner's representation dated 24.08.2015, directs the second respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 24.08.2015 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
