Respondents Prayer : - Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of mandamus directing the respondents herein to issue a joint patta in the names of all the petitioners herein in respect of the nanjai land measuring an extent of 0.33 acres comprised in S.No.521 situate in Kalathur Village, Arakkonam Taluk, Ranipettai District, by considering the joint representation of the petitioners dated 20.01.2021.

ORDER
(1) Mr.Yogesh Kannadasan, learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
(2) The petitioners have filed this writ petition jointly seeking issuance of patta in all their names with respect to the land measuring an extent of 0.33 acres in S.No.521 in Kalathur Village, Arakonam Taluk, Ranipet District. The petitioners had given a representation on 20.01.2021. The authority who has to issue the said joint patta is the Tahsildar, Arakonam Taluk, Ranipet District, who is the 2nd respondent herein.
(3) The said property originally belonged to the petitioners' mother Manohari who had purchased the said property by way of a Sale Deed dated 09.01.2014. Rather, unfortunately, subsequent to that particular sale, the revenue records had not been mutated in the name of the petitioners mother. She died on 20.11.2016 and now, the petitioners seek patta to be issued in their names. In this connection, they had given a representation on 20.01.2021.
(4) A mandamus is issued to the 2nd respondent / Tahsildar, Arakonam Taluk, to examine the said representation, invite the petitioners, enquire them and also examine the relevant records and thereafter take a decision whether to grant joint patta or not. At any rate, the entire exercise is to be completed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
(5) The writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
