.. Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to appoint the petitioner on compassionate ground as Sanitary Worker.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
2. The father of the petitioner was working as Sanitary Worker in the services of the 3rd respondent and he died in harness on 26.07.2006 and the mother of the petitioner submitted an application seeking employment on compassionate ground for the petitioner and based on which, the 3rd respondent has also sought for a legal opinion from the Standing counsel who have also given a favourable opinion on 20.10.2010. The grievance expressed by the petitioner is that though the 3rd respondent, on receipt of the legal opinion, has forwarded the proposal to the 1st respondent for appropriate orders, till date, no orders have been passed and hence, the petitioner came forward to file this writ petition.

3. This Court heard the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.V.Subbiah, learned Special Government Pleader who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 and 2 and Mr.G.B.Rajesh, learned counsel who accepts notice on behalf of the 3rd respondent.
4. Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the above facts and circumstances, directs the 1st respondent to act on the proposal submitted by the 3rd respondent in Na.Ka.No.4718/2014/H2 dated 17.03.2015 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
