Respondents PRAYER: PETITION under Article 226 of The Constitution of India praying for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 2 and 3 to issue patta to the petitioner in respect of the land measuring an extent of 334 sq.ft., comprised in Town Survey No.5782, Block No.130, in Old Door No.27 and New Door No.7A/29, Maduraiveeran Koil Street, T.Nagar, Chennai-600 017, based on the Government orders issued by the first respondent vide (i) G.O.Ms.No.854 dated 30.12.2006; (ii) G.O.Ms.No.34 dated 23.01.2008; and (iii) G.O.Ms/No.43 dated 29.01.2010 and also based on the representation dated 16.09.2015 of the petitioner made to the Revenue Officials concerned within the time frame.

The petitioner is stated to be in possession and enjoyment of the premises situated in old door No.27 and new door No.7A/29, Maduraiveeran Koil Street, T.Nagar, Chennai-600 017, measuring an extent of 334 sq.ft., which he has purchased by sale deed dated 06.01.2011. It is also stated that the petitioner has paid the requisite tax for the said property. A representation was made by the petitioner on 16.09.2015 seeking issuance of patta, placing reliance upon the Government orders issued by the first respondent vide (i) G.O.Ms.No.854 dated 30.12.2006; (ii) G.O.Ms.No.34 dated 23.01.2008; and (iii) G.O.Ms/No.43 dated 29.01.2010. As the said representation has not been considered, the present writ petition has been filed. 2.
The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that a direction may be given to the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 16.09.2015 within a reasonable time in the light of the Government Orders cited above.

Considering the said submission, without going into the merits of the case, a direction is given to the second respondent to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 16.09.2015 within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. While doing so, the said authority is directed to consider the scope and applicability of the Government Orders referred to above.

The writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
