PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to grant the money as per scheme of Post Tsunami Sustainable Livelihood Programme (PTSLP) respondent based on the petitioner's representation dated 23.09.2019. Mr.G.Krishnaraja, learned Government Counsel takes notice for the respondent. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the time of admission itself.

2.According to the petitioner, her husband by name, Veersamy died on 26.06.2019, while he was going to deep sea for catching fish. A case in Cr.No.239 of 2018 was registered by the Inspector of Police, Mamallapuram Police Station in this regard. During the year 2004, the respondent framed a scheme viz., Post Tsunami Sustainable Livelihood Programme (PTSLP) for the welfare of the fisherman community and they have been collecting money as premium for insurance. According to the said scheme, if any fisherman died, the respondent shall grant a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- to the deceased family. Hence, the petitioner submitted a representation to the respondent on 23.09.2019 requesting to grant money, as per the said scheme. Finding no response on the same, she has come up with this writ petition seeking appropriate direction to the respondent in this regard. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3.Heard both sides and perused the documents enclosed in the typed set of papers.

4.In view of the limited relief sought herein, this court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 23.09.2019 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
