O R D E R
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to direct the respondent to enquire the matter in Crime No.2351 of 2019 dated 04.12.2019 pending on his file and file a final report within the stipulated time as prescribed by this Court.
2. Heard Mr.P.Tamilavel, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mrs.M.Prabhavathi, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

Whenever any information in relation to commission of cognizable or non-cognizable offence is received, the police officer shall adhere to the procedure contemplated under Sections 154 & 155 of the Criminal Procedure Code and after conducting necessary enquiry/investigation, file final report under Section 173 of Cr.P.C. Such investigation under Chapter XII of the Criminal Procedure Code shall be completed without any unnecessary delay. The delay in filing a final report in the present case is inordinate and unjustified. Hence, it would be appropriate to direct the investigating Officer to file a final report within a stipulated time, if not already filed.
4. Now on considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the petition mentioned crime number has been registered for the offences punishable under section 120B, 420, 408, 465, 467, 468 and 471 IPC. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent would submit that in respect of the above referred crime number, part of the investigation has been completed and further period of three month is required for filing final report.
In view of the submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, the respondent police is directed to file final report within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order without fail.
6. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
