The relief sought for by the petitioner is to direct the respondents to issue Legal Heir Certificate of Late Mr.P.R.Lakshmi Narayanan, the father of the petitioner herein.

2. The petitioner's father Mr.P.R.Lakshmi Narayanan died on 13.03.2019 in Chennai. The petitioner being a resident of Mumbai had applied for the legal heirship certificate before the respondent twice. The petitioner's applications were rejected without citing any reasons by the respondent. The third application made by the petitioner is still pending before the respondent. The respondent had insisted that the Legal Heirship Certificate of the petitioner's father will not be issued unless the petitioner produces an address proof with a local address. passport, etc., the same were not considered by the respondent. Hence, the petitioner has filed this writ petition.

3. Since the petitioner was living in Maharashtra, this Court, on 11.11.2020, had directed the petitioner to appear before the Tahsildar, Velachery Taluk on any date giving prior intimation to the Tahsildar either through letter or through the counsel and also directed the Tahsildar to conduct enquiry that is required in compliance with the procedures contemplated to complete the enquiry and to issue appropriate legal heirship certificate to the petitioner.

4. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the Legal Heirship Certificate as required by the petitioner has been issued on 04.12.2020.

5. Recording the said submission, the writ petition is closed. No costs.
