Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 02.06.2016 to restore the petitioner's father's name again the Town Survey Records relating to property comprised in Survey No.153 of Menambedu Village, Ambattur Taluk, Tiruvallur District measuring an extent of 1694 sq.ft. of land within a reasonable time. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

The petitioner, in the affidavit filed in support of this writ petition, would aver among other things, that his father, namely, D.Balaraman Naidu, was in possession of 1694 sq.ft. of land, in Gramanatham S.No.153, Menampedu Village and after his demise, the superstructure put up by him, has been demolished and there is a change of classification in the revenue records also, without putting the petitioner on notice. In this regard, the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 02.06.2016 to the respondents praying for change of name in the revenue records and restoration of his father's name and since no response is forthcoming, the petitioner is constrained to file this writ petition. Heard the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.V.S.Ramesh, learned Government Advocate who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the same, directs the 4th respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 02.06.2016 on merits and in accordance with law, after putting on notice the person/s concerned and pass orders within a period of ten weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner and to the person/s concerned.

The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
