ORDER

This Petition has been filed to grant an order of police protection to the petitioner by considering his representation dated 31.07.2021 and grant such other relief.

2. The petitioner sent a representation on 31.07.2021, seeking police protection, but no action has been taken. Hence, the above petition is filed.

3. It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner is a Film Producer and Director and also a member of the

political party Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Coimbatore District. He lodged a complaint against an Ex. Minister in AIADMK Government, for alleging conspiring with the Members of Legislative Assembly from Coimbatore region committed corruption under the guise of implementation of Athikadavu Scheme, Pillor Three Extension Project and formation of survey and other projects, which runs to several crores. On the complaint of the petitioner, CSR.No.219 2021 has been assigned by the third respondent and investigation is pending.

4. In view of the compliant lodged by the petitioner, the petitioner has been constantly threatened by unknown persons. Further, some unknown persons openly exert pressure on the petitioner to withdraw the complaint, otherwise it would be harmful to him. Hence, the petitioner sought for police protection.

5. The learned State Public Prosecutor has submitted that the complaint lodged by the petitioner was investigated and CSR was closed and he has been directed to lodge a complaint to Vigilance and Anti Corruption. Further, the third respondent had sent police from the Police Station and made enquiry in and around the petitioner's residence and confirm the safety and security of the petitioner. There is no personal threat for the petitioner's life and property and a letter, dated 13.08.2021 to that effect has been produced before this Court.

6. Considering the submission and perused the materials, it is seen that for the present there is no threat against the petitioner's life and property and the third respondent is taking requisite process in this regard.

7. In view of the same, this Criminal Original Petition is closed.
