Crl.O.P.No.12544 of 2023 G.CHANDRASEKHARAN.J., The petitioner namely Veeramani, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 21.05.2023 registered for the offences punishable under Sections 4(1)(aa) read with Section 4(1-A) (ii) of TNP Act in Crime No.272 of 2023 on the file of the respondent police seeks bail.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, petitioner is falsely implicated in a case registered for the offences under Sections 4(1)(aa) read with Section 4(1-A) (ii) of TNP Act in Crime No.272 of 2023. Petitioner is in Judicial Custody from 21.05.2023. Thus, he seeks bail to the petitioner.

3. In response, learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) vehemently opposes the petition on the ground that, apart from this case, there are six previous cases pending against the petitioner. Out of six previous cases, one was referred and other cases are pending. In the 1/3

present case, on 21.05.2023 at about 11.00.a.m., petitioner was found in possession of 55 litres of country liquor. Investigation in this case is pending.

4. In view of the submission of the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) that, apart from this case, petitioner has five similar cases pending against him and that investigation in this case is not completed, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

5. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 11.07.2023 Sma 2/3
