Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for a writ of mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to forth with consider the candidature of the petitioner and to select and appoint him to the post of Industrial Relation Officer, in pursuant to the Recruitment Notification bearing Letter No.49498/A11/A111/2014-6 dated 05.05.2015 issued by the 2nd respondent and in pursuant to the application of the petitioner dated 19.05.2015 [forwarded through the proper channel, namely the 4th and 5th respondents herein].

ORDER

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner was initially appointed as Helper in the services of the then Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, now Tamil Nadu Generation of Electricity and Distribution Company Limited [TANGEDCO Ltd.] and got his promotion and at present working as Foreman Special Grade and has also completed B.A., degree and completed 3 years B.L., Degree through Evening Course conducted by Dr.Ambedkar Law College and also M.L., Degree during the year 2007 and as such, he is entitled to be considered for the selection to the post of "Industrial Relations Officer". The petitioner, in response to the Circular dated 05.05.2015, calling for applications, has also submitted an application on 19.05.2015, praying for consideration of his claim for appointment to the post of Industrial Relations Officer. It was also forwarded through proper channel by the respondents 4 and

5. The grievance now expressed by the petitioner is that the result of the selection is yet to be made known to him. Hence, he came forward to file this writ petition.

3. This Court heard the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mrs.R.Varalakshmi, learned Standing Counsel who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 5, who would submit that the selection process has already been completed.

4. In response to the said submission, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the result of the selection process could be communicated to the petitioner so as to enable him to work out his further remedy in accordance with law and prays for appropriate orders.

5. This Court considered the rival submissions made on either side and also perused the materials placed before it.

6. Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the above facts and circumstances, directs the 2nd respondent to communicate the result of the selection process to the post of Industrial Relations Officer, to the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and the petitioner, on receipt of the same, is at liberty to work out his further remedy in accordance with law.

7. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
