Respondents PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, to direct the 1st respondent police to provide adequate police protection to the life of the petitioner and her husband as well as their property, based on the petitioner's complaint/statement dated 04.03.2025 sent via registered post. O R D E R
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 1st respondent police to provide adequate police protection to the life and property of the petitioner and her husband.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the first respondent. Perused the materials available on record.
3. It is seen that the petitioner got intercaste marriage with her husband against the wishes of her parents. The petitioner and her husband now apprehend at the hands of her parents. Therefore, the petitioner lodged a complaint before the first respondent seeking police protection.
4. In view of the above, the first respondent is directed to conduct an enquiry on the complaint lodged by the petitioner, after issuing notice to the petitioner and the counter parties, if any, and pass orders to provide police protection to the petitioner and her husband at the hands of the second respondent and others, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
