By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner would state that her mother viz., Smt.G.Gnanadeepam, who was in the services of the respondent, died in harness on 1.2.2000 due to cancer. At the time of her death, she has left 2 girl children, viz., S. Akila and the petitioner herein. The petitioner was 9 years old at that time of her mother's death. Since the petitioner was minor, she could not approach the respondent's office for employment on compassionate ground and she was maintained by her maternal uncle for the reason that her father * did not bestow attention on account of demise of his wife.

The petitioner, after successfully completing SSLC, and H.Sc., joined B.Tech I.T. Course in the Anna University and obtained I class with distinction in the year 2011. Thereafter, she submitted a representation dated 10.07.2015 to the respondent seeking employment on compassionate ground. Since no response is forthcoming, she came forward to file the present writ petition.

Mr.M.Vembadiyan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that admittedly the mother of the petitioner * is no more and she was maintained by her maternal uncle and she has also passed B.Tech I.T. Course in the Anna University and obtained I class with distinction. Since her sole aim is to serve and render the services as Government servant, she submitted the above said representation seeking appointment on compassionate ground and hence, prayed for appropriate orders.

4. Heard the submissions of Mr.M.Vembadiyan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.K.Raja Srinivas, learned Standing Counsel, who accepts notice for the respondent.

5. This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 10.07.2015 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner. This Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly.
