ORDER

This writ petition has been filed challenging the impugned proceedings of the 3 rd respondent dated 29.03.2025 and for consequential direction to the 3 rd respondent to mutate the revenue records in the name of the petitioner with respect to the subject property.

2.Heard Mr.A. Akshay Kumar, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners and Mr.A.Selvendran, learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents.

3/6 3.The online rejection order has been passed by the 3 rd respondent without assigning any reasons by merely relying upon the report of the Village Administrative Officer.

4.In the considered view of this Court, if the 3 rd respondent was not inclined to issue the patta, the petitioner should have been called for an enquiry and necessary clarification should have been obtained. The very fact that the online rejection order is bereft of any reasons, by itself is a ground for interference.

5.In the light of the above discussion, the online rejection order issued by the 3 rd respondent dated 29.03.2025, is hereby quashed and the matter is remanded back to the file of the 3 rd respondent with a direction to conduct an enquiry after affording opportunity to the petitioner and pass orders, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

4/6 6.In the result, this writ petition is allowed with the above direction. No Costs.
