Respondents Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to issue patta to the petitioner in respect of house site situated at Chinna Salem South Village, S.No.351/2A measuring about 2178 sqft, house site, Chinna Salem Taluk, Villupuram District as stated on petitioner representation dated 18.08.2014.

ORDER

Heard Mr.R.Kumaravel, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.S.Gunasekaran, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents and with their consent, the writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage itself.

2.The petitioner seeks for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the 2nd respondent to issue patta to the petitioner in respect of house site situated at Chinna Salem South Village, S.No.351/2A measuring about 2178 sqft, house site, Chinna Salem Taluk, Villupuram District as stated on petitioner representation dated 18.08.2014. 3.Admittedly, the property in question is a grama natham land. The petitioner has not produced patta issued in favour of his vendor. Therefore, no writ of mandamus can be issued compelling the 2nd respondent to grant patta.

4.Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed. However, this will not stand in the way of the petitioner in pursuing his representation before the authorities concerned. No costs.
