The petitioner made a representation seeking to conduct elections to the Fort Mosque Vaniyambadi on the basis of Voter List consisting of Muslim male members of 18 years and above from the Municipal Electoral Voter List. As the said representation has not been considered, the present Writ Petition has been filed.
2.When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the respondents submitted that the election will be conducted within a period of four months by secret ballots by taking into consideration the list of members maintained by the Wakf. It is also submitted that the voters list will be prepared drawing sources from the Municipal Electoral Voter List. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
3.In view of the submissions made, the Writ Petition is disposed of by recording the statement made by the learned counsel for the respondents with a direction to conclude the election to the Fort Mosque Vaniyambadi within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
