Respondents Prayer: This Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to promote the petitioner to the post of Junior Assistant from the post of Office Assistant in Erode Corporation based upon the G.O.Ms.No.87, Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department, dated 19.08.2020 and petitioner representation dated 16.11.2020, within a reasonable time.

(The case has been heard through video conference) By consent of the learned counsel on either side, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal and is disposed of by means of this order.

2. Mr.C.Kathiravan, learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of the first respondent and Mr.M.Rajamathivanan, learned standing counsel accepts notice on behalf of the second respondnet.

The petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking a Mandamus, directing the second respondent to promote the petitioner to the post of Junior Assistant from the post of Office Assistant in Erode Corporation based upon the G.O.Ms.No.87, Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department, dated 19.08.2020 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 16.11.2020.

4. This Court heard the submissions of the learned counsel appearing on either side.

5. This Court considering the limited prayer sought for in this Writ petition, without going into the merits of the case, direct the respondents to consider and dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 16.11.2020, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner herein.

6. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
