O R D E R

(This case has been heard through video conference) The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offence punishable under Sections 4(1) (aaa), 4(1-A) of TNP Act read with 6 & 11 of R.S. Rules 2000 (Transporting), in Crime No.916 of 2020, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner along with the other accused was found in possession of 105 litres of ID Arrack and on seeing the police they ran away.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent and he has been falsely implicated in this case based on the confession of A1. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent would vehemently oppose stating that the petitioner is a habitual offender against whom there are fifteen previous cases pending. 5.Taking into consideration the nature of offence and the fact that the petitioner has got fifteen previous cases to his credit, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
