Respondent Prayer : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 03.08.2015 and thereby direct the respondent to furnish the details regarding the deposit of award amount and other relevant details to the same in respect of the property in Survey No.291, Velacherry Village Mambalam - Guindy Taluk, South Chennai District totally to an extent of 6,691 sq. ft. which was acquired under the Land Acquisition Proceedings by the respondent department for extension of Velacherry - Taramani Link Road.

ORDER

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel for the respondent and with their consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. 2.The petitioner seeks for considering his representation dated 03.08.2015 wherein the petitioner has sought for details with regard to the award amount and other details in respect of the property in S.No.291, Velacherry Village, Mambalam - Guindy Taluk, South Chennai District measuring an extent of 6691 square feet which is said to have been acquired for the extension of the Velacherry - Taramani Link Road.

3.If the petitioner had sought this information under the Right to Information Act, obviously the Office would have furnished it by now. However, he has chosen to submit a representation and waited for about two months and has approached this Court.

4.In the light of the above, there will be a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 03.08.2015 and intimate to him the details as sought for, if they are relevant or else the respondent should intimate the correct state of affairs to the petitioner. The above said exercise shall be completed within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
