ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for the issue of a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to conduct a separate entrance examination for the petitioner based on the representation made by the petitioner on 21.09.2020.

2. The case of the petitioner is that the respondent University called for applications with respect to MBA course and the petitioner also submitted an application. The respondent had conducted an entrance examination on 18.09.2020. The grievance of the petitioner is that he was informed about the examination only on the previous day and the petitioner was not in a position to attend the examination. The petitioner therefore wants the respondent to conduct a separate entrance examination to enable the petitioner to participate in the selection to the MBA course.

3. Heard Mr.P.Suresh, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.Ravi, learned counsel for the respondent.

4. In the considered view of this Court, the petitioner cannot insist for a separate entrance examination to be conducted for him by the respondent University. If the petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that he was not properly informed about the entrance examination, at the best the petitioner can seek only for a compensation and this Court cannot in exercise of its jurisdiction under Article 226 of the Constitution of India direct the respondent University to conduct a separate entrance examination for the petitioner alone.

In view of the above, this Court does not find any grounds to entertain this writ petition and accordingly the same is dismissed. No costs. Connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
