ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by SATISH K. AGNIHOTRI, J.) With consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
The relief sought in this writ petition is a direction to the 2nd respondent - The Commissioner, Corporation of Chennai, to consider the petitioner's representation dated 27 January 2015 for issuance of licence to the bunk shop, situated on the line of Greams Road, in front of 122, Swami Venkatachalam Chetty & Co., Opposite to BSNL Office, Thousand Lights, Chennai-600 006.
Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the 2nd respondent-Corporation submits that the afore-stated representation will be examined on its own merits and in accordance with law, after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and a decision will be taken within a period of four weeks.
Accordingly, we direct the 2nd respondent to consider the afore-stated representation on its own merits and in accordance with law and take a decision within a period of four weeks. It is made clear that status-quo as obtained today in respect of the bunk shop in question shall be maintained, till the disposal of the afore-stated representation. The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs. Consequently, connected M.P.No.1 of 2015 is closed.
