ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 30.01.2026 and pass appropriate orders thereon.

The petitioner was appointed as Watchman on compassionate grounds on 01.02.1985, promoted as Office Assistant in 1989, and thereafter promoted as Record Clerk on 31.03.2000. According to the petitioner, he was erroneously granted selection grade in the post of Office Assistant in 2005, whereas he ought to have been granted selection grade in the post of Record Clerk on completion of 10 years of service in 2010 and Special Grade on completion of a further 10 years in 2020, with all consequential monetary benefits and arrears. Though he submitted several representations seeking pay fixation, grade upgradation and arrears, no orders have been passed. Aggrieved by the non consideration of the latest representation dated 30.01.2026, the present writ petition has been filed.

Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim, the respondents are directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 30.01.2026 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, if necessary, within a period of eight(8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 10-06-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order MRP To
