ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed to issue a direction to dispose the discharge petition pending in Crl.MP.No.16439 of 2025, in the above CC.No.1728 of 2023 before the Learned Metropolitan Magistrate for exclusive trail of CCB cases relating to cheating cases in Chennai and CBCID Metro Cases at Egmore, Chennai.

2.The petitioner /A4 facing trial in C.C.No.1728 of 2023 filed a discharge petition in Crl.MP.No.16439 of 2025. The resplendent police is yet to file their counter. Hence, the case was adjourned and the discharge petition is pending for a long period.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the copy of the discharge petition has not been received but fairly submitted that now, in this proceedings, the discharge petition has been filed and the same would be considered by the respondent police apart from the discharge petition to be received from the trial Court. Thereafter, in any event counter would be filed on the next hearing date I.e.on 01.06.2026.

4.In view of the above, the trial Court is directed to consider the counter and dispose of the discharge petition within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of the counter. Accordingly, the criminal original petition is disposed of.
