ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records of the second respondent relating to Na.Ka.No.18217/2014/A4 dated 16.04.2018 and quash the same and to issue consequential directions to the respondents to give appointment to the petitioner on compassionate grounds, consequent to the death of her father on 30.11.1991, while in service as Junior Assistant, Pandamangalam Town Panchayat, Namakkal District.
2. Heard Mr.M.Ravi, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.S.Rajesh, learned Government Advocate for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.

3. The petitioner had applied for compassionate appointment in view of the death of her father in harness and had suffered an order of rejection at the hands of the second respondent. The petitioner has filed an Appeal before the first respondent challenging the above order of rejection, but it is yet to be disposed.
4. The limited prayer of the petitioner is to give a direction to the first respondent to consider her appeal and pass an order within the prescribed time limit. It is learnt that the petitioner has filed an appeal as early as on 15.07.2018. In the matter of compassionate appointment, if orders have not been passed within a reasonable time, it will defeat the very object of providing compassionate appointment. The compassionate appointment is given only to save the family of the deceased from immediate economical constraints. Hence, it would be appreciable if the first respondent dispose the appeal filed by the petitioner shortly. Page No.3 of 6

In view of the above stated reasons, this Writ Petition is disposed and the first respondent is directed to dispose the appeal filed by the petitioner on 15.07.2018, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
